The fil rouge of illusionism links theatre, ballet, pantomime, quick changes, shadow play and martial arts. During the show the spectator is carried away in a magic and unreal world made by beauty and built up by the atmosphere and characters of the show.
These are the ingredients of “La notte magica”,the amazing show scheduled on May 3 at Giordano Theatre which is organized by Municipality of Foggia, Culture Department, whose protagonist is Alexis Art (whose name is Danilo Audiello).
Alexis is specialized in creative directions, special effects production and magicians, and is a worldwide renowned choreographer. The audience involved stay astonish and admire watching his dynamic and fascinating shows.
According to the artist, every kind of illusion is possible; dreams indeed inspire his main projects.
During the show, the artist realizes the most famous performances in his career, from the beginnings: the show is a tour in his complicated and fascinating art.
For the first time, Giordano Theatre hosts a multi-disciplinary magician show, which includes escapology, hypnosis, manipulation, mentalism, special effects and great illusionism performances: the show is a sort of illusionist art “lectio magistralis”.
Alexis’ show is also be full of special effects and fireworks: the show is a 90 minutes emotional and astonishing performance.
The show is the occasion for the artist to promote the Italian Illusionists Team representing out Country in FISM (International magician companies federation) world competition, scheduled on July in Rimini (Italy). Indeed, team has recently registered a big success in the European competition held in Marsiglia (France).
Alexis’ father was a magician too, and the artist paid his dues working with many artists, among whom Vittorio Gassman, who encouraged his passion for the theatre, and suggested him to keep studying theatre.
The framework he grew up in let him know one of the most renowned representative of quick-change art: Arturo Brachetti.
Alexis studied ballet, which gave him the elegance and agility he puts in his shows. He also practiced several sports as artistic gymnastic and aikido, which gave his artistic expression stronger.
The artist from Foggia has collected several awards all over the world, and has been very appreciated everywhere for his professional skills and ability.
In 2005 Alexis has been awarded by the President of the Italian Republic, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi; on May, 29 2009 he entered the Guinness records during “Houdini Night Show” with his quickest escape from a straitjacket and handcuffs, becoming the quickest escapologist in the world.
The artist set 6 Guinness world records and, last month, he registered a huge success at Cambridge University, where he showed an unreleased and amazing video he realized together with Ross Ashton about a creative project experimenting the border between illusionism, theatre, ballet and video-mapping, consisting in projecting imagines on buildings.
On that occasion, the Chairman Matteo Jacovelli, member of National Italian Emigrant Families Association, awarded Alexis Arts for his contributing with his creative and philanthropic activities, to the Italian culture promotion.
