Nowadays, everyone in Italy knows Antonio Albanese for his most renowncharacter named “Cetto La Qualunque”, a corrupt politician who founded the Party “du Pilu”, that is one of the characters of his new show “Personaggi”, scheduled in Giordano Theatre, in Foggia, on March, 14 and 15.

It is a new and awaited by the audience show, part of the 2014-2015 prose season, organized by Municipality of Foggia, Culture Department, in cooperation with the Apulia Regional Government Public Theatre Agency.

Script is by Albanese and Michele Serra, together with PieroGuerrera and with the show director GiampieroSolari.

After a successful Italian tour, the show resumes in 2 hours the last 25 years of the Lombard comedian’s career.Wired or melancholy characters and our society stereotypes’ parade will be performed at the Giordano Theatre stage. All these characters are created and interpreted by Albanese, whose career is characterizedby aggressive or innocent parodies and by being not only a comedian but also a drama actor.

The fifty years actor started at the beginning of eighties, in local radios, then he took place to a national and popular talk showon TV, named “Maurizio Costanzo Show”, and definitely became famous during a TV show named “Mai dire gol”, where he performed several characters which soon became his hits.

In 1996 he makes his first movie as director and protagonist: “Un uomod’acqua dolce”. In that period, he also experienced theatre several times.

His show “Characters” resumes some popular characters of his career: starting from the Southern immigrant with integration problems in Northern Italy, then the entrepreneur working 16 hours a day, until the quite sommelier and the visionary Ottimista who lives in a perfect world and finally the tender and dreamer Epifanio.

The story looks neurotic and alienate, based on human’sloneliness, also during their relationships, and on the destroy of families’ connections: it’s an anti-heroes parade which reveals a society crossed by obsessions, fears, omnipotent delusions and excuses, where Albanese also inserts some poetical elements.

This is a comic and pace recital about a cosmos lived by typical characters of our current era. All the show is enriched by exploding author’s drollery and intense presence on the stage.
