“Diversamente OrchestrAbili” is a project focused on a traditional orchestra entirely composed by young people with different abilities, which is aimed to realize the first orchestral music therapy Center of Southern Italy.

The project, started as an idea of the Association “Note a Margine” from Manfredonia (province of Foggia), and developed by Municipality of Foggia, will be presented in a public conference to be realized next April, 29 at 7 p.m. at the Umberto Giordano Theatre.

The Association’s aim, directed by Rossella Di Sabato, is to teach young people classic instruments music (violin, double bass, cello, harp, piano, percussions and others) and main composers’ executions: Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Schumann and others.

The Association means to support these poor young people and their families to face all their problems, putting on them the attention of local authorities and civil society.

Their work is based on solidarity values and provides social facilities and assistance for physical, psychical or sensorial patients and for people with social disadvantage condition, in order to make their integration in everyday life easier.

The first aim of the Association is realizing a Center practicing the international renowned Esagramma method.

In particular, a first level class and a facultative masterclass lasting 6 years are scheduled. After the first two years, students can be part of a Symphonic Orchestra trained by teachers and musicians of the Center.

Personal musical patterns, realized through the possibility of choosing one’s favorite musical instrument lesson, improve execution, listening, reading and learning capability about musical theory and culture.

Students can practice their previously learnt skills both during symphonic orchestral and chamber music sessions, public concerts and team-working sessions that make them feel responsible and actually integrated in a working reality.

“Diversamente OrchestrAbili” is focused on different abilities students from all levels schools and Institutions, from volunteer and promotional Associations operating in social matters (Down syndrome; William syndrome and idiot savant) and involves teachers and trainers.

Center’s activities are scheduled from May/September 2015 to the end of July 2017.

The free entrance at the conference is available at the Giordano Theatre or calling 347 9050492 (“Note a margine” Association) or sending an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
